Weight loss could be helped by adding protein to your diet plan scientists found in a study carried out in Copenhagen, Denmark.
High-protein foods such as eggs, chicken breasts and milk can all help you to slim down.
Luckily, experts have revealed that eating more of these foods - not less - can speed up your weight loss goals.
Sixty-five subjects, who are healthy, overweight or obese, took part in the trials and were split into groups.
Each group ate different low-fat calorie-restricted diets while scientists measured their weight loss.
One group ate a high-carbohydrate with 12 per cent protein, and another ate a high-protein diet, with 25 per cent protein.
The high-protein diet came out clearly on top of the two calorie-restricted diets, although the high-carb dieters lost weight too.
High-protein dieters lost almost one and half stone (1.4 stone) or 8.9 kg, after six months.
The low-carb dieters lost, in comparison, 0.8 stone, or 5.1 kg.
