Apple cider vinegar warning - why you should ALWAYS drink it through a straw

Killing bacteria, lowering blood sugar levels and cholesterol and reducing the risk of heart diseases are just a few more of apple cider vinegar’s health benefits, but the natural tonic also holds some potential side effects. 

Just one of these is the erosion of tooth enamel, according to Healthline.com. 

On its website it states: “Acidic foods and beverages have been shown to damage tooth enamel. 

“Soft drinks and fruit juices have been more widely studied, but some research shows the acetic acid in vinegar may also damage tooth enamel.” 

In one lab study, sited on the website, enamel from wisdom teeth was immersed in different vinegars with pH levels ranging from 2.7 to 3.9. 

The vinegars led to a 1 to 20 per cent loss of minerals from the teeth after just four hours. 

While the experiment was carried out in a lab and the mouth contains saliva which helps bugger acidity, theres still evidence that large amounts of vinegar an cause dental erosion.
